AUSTIN, TX / ACCESS Newswire / May 6, 2026 / Action Behavior Centers, a leading provider of evidence-based applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), reflected on a month of meaningful activities, family celebrations, and community engagement held throughout April in recognition of Autism Acceptance Month.
April has long been recognized as Autism Acceptance Month, a time for schools, organizations, and communities to promote inclusion and celebrate neurodiversity. April 2 is recognized by the United Nations as World Autism Awareness Day, designated to encourage global understanding of and respect for autistic individuals.
“Autism Acceptance Month is a time to reflect on how far we’ve come and to recommit to why we started: to be agents of positive change for the children and families we serve,” said Hersh Sanghavi, Chief Executive Officer of Action Behavior Centers. “When we invest in our clinicians, stay closely connected to families, and lead with purpose, the impact extends far beyond our centers.”
Nationwide Celebrations at ABC Centers
This April, ABC centers participated in several coordinated activities to mark the month, including infinity handprint murals, a family Art Walk, dedicated teammate recognition, and Autism Acceptance Month 2026 t-shirts.
The spirit of the month came to life differently at each center. At ABC’s Littleton, Colorado location, Senior Operations Manager Morgan Michieli and her team built the month around themes of growth and possibility. Encouraging children to bloom where they’re planted, the team led activities that brought autism acceptance to life, from planting sunflower seeds to observe growth in action to a carnation demonstration showing how small changes can create a meaningful impact. Children also created infinity handprint murals focused on how small hands can do incredible things. The center concluded with its Art Walk, transforming the lobby into the “Littleton Garden” and inviting parents to reflect on how their children bring sunshine into their lives.
“Every milestone, big or small, is worth celebrating,” said Michieli. “It was truly remarkable to see the impact, community, and joy throughout the center during Autism Acceptance Month.”

Autism Acceptance in Action
Beyond April, ABC’s commitment to autism acceptance is reflected in how it delivers care year-round. The organization provides ABA therapy tailored to each child’s strengths, needs, and family goals. Board Certified Behavior Analysts® (BCBAs®) and Registered Behavior Technicians® (RBTs®) work directly with children to help them build functional skills for everyday life.
“Autism acceptance begins with listening: to your child and to you,” said Dr. Charna Mintz, Chief Clinical Officer at Action Behavior Centers. “At ABC, we take the time to understand who your child is, what they love, what they’re working toward, and what matters most to your family. If your child is newly diagnosed with autism, please know that you are not alone.”
